Kevin Peraza Kicks Off 2025 at BMX Triple Challenge

Kevin Garczynski

by Leigh Ramsdell, Sports Marketing Manager

While winning a contest is something to strive for, it's definitely not the most important part of BMX – It's all about pushing yourself and having fun doing it. I mean, that's why we started pedaling  20” bikes.

Whether Mongoose BMX pro Kevin Peraza wins a contest or finishes at the bottom of the pack, one thing is for sure, you'll always see him riding with joy.  And to Kevin, that happiness and expression on two-wheels will always mean more than landing a spot on top of the podium.

Photographers and videographers are always drawn to Kevin because they know they will always get something they can use in a post or video. “As a video guy,” says Ryan Fudger of Our BMX. ”I always want to make sure I film Kevin anytime he drops in because he’s going to do something different than the rest of the riders. And it’ll look flat-out amazing.”

At the latest dirt contest, Monster Energy’s BMX Triple Challenge in Anaheim, CA, Kevin had a few mistakes during his runs that landed him in 14th place. While maybe not up to his incredibly-high standards, it's never his placing that fans will remember (well, until now because I just brought it up. haha).  What they remember is the thrill of watching him ride, whether it's practice, the contest, or both!

Fudger continued, “Kevin is simply enjoying himself and doing what he wants in the moment. For the guy that needs to make the recap video (on OurBMX.com), that’s exactly what I’m looking for and often why Kevin gets the largest chunk of the official recap videos.”

And that is why we are happy to sponsor Mr. Peraza. He's just out there doing what he loves, and it shows.
